What is Pick and Pack?

Pick and pack order fulfilment is the process of physically picking stock off the warehouse shelves and packing them to meet orders that have usually been received via an Order Management System (OMS). Picking and Packing follow the OMS receiving a new order, and before Despatch and Distribution, where the complete orders are sent to the final customer.

 

Whistl’s Pick and Pack Process 

  1. Product orders are 'picked' and  'packed' on a continuous, or pre-determined basis for customer-generated orders.
  2. Orders are converted into a picking list (generated to determine the optimum quantities of each product), from its pick location in the warehouse.
  3. Products are ‘picked’ from warehouse areas in one of Whistl’s fulfilment centres and packed into the appropriate branded packaging (box, packet or carton), along with the required packing materials and postal documents.
  4. On completion of this pick and pack process, the package is labelled for its customer's domestic or international address, and shipped via Whistl’s carefully selected range of carrier partners.
