Whistl achieves ISO 14001:2015 environmental standard

Whistl, the leading delivery management company, has announced that following its recent transition to the new ISO 9001-2015 standard it has now achieved the newly revised environment standard, ISO 14001:2015. Alongside, its renewed certification of the OHSAS 18001.

Approved by LRQA (Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Ltd), ISO 14001:2015 is a certified environmental management system for organisations who want to enhance their environmental performance, without compromising the products and services that meet the needs of their customers and stakeholders.

Under the new certification standard, Whistl had to identify how internal and external processes related to the environment and demonstrate how these aligned with Whistl’s strategic direction; that a monthly report on business environmental stats has been developed; that it is carrying out audits in line with the revised standard including a new Leadership Audit; and any environmental risk and opportunities have been defined.

Under LRQA’s supervision, Whistl are one of only a few companies who have successfully transitioned to the standard before the September 2018 deadline.

In addition, Whistl has taken part in its annual CPD-led disclosure program which helps the company understand and measure its impact on the environment. As part of the process, CPD helps Whistl report its environmental processes to meet the auditing needs of customers and other stakeholders.

This year, Whistl achieved an “Awareness” score level, which recognises that Whistl has started to implement changes to business strategy to reduce its carbon emissions and which is above the CPD industry standard.

With their culture of continuous improvement, Whistl has agreed to take part in CDP’s Action Exchange Initiative.  A programme designed to help companies identify and implement more emission reduction solutions to further reduce global emissions.

Nick Wells, CEO of Whistl, said: “Our new ISO 14001:2015 certification and involvement in the CDP shows our commitment to improvement whilst remaining transparent and accountable for our environmental practices. For our customers, it ensures a more sustainable impact without a change in services.”
