Whistl Doordrop Media wins Silver and Bronze at the 2023 DMA Awards

Whistl Doordrop Media, the UK market leader in audience targeting and leaflet distribution services, and its clients, Princess Cruises and Abel & Cole, were Silver and Bronze winners within the Unaddressed Print and Door Drops category at the 2023 Data & Marketing Association Awards.

Princess Cruises, one of the most recognised cruise lines in the world, faced the challenge of effectively acquiring and retaining new customers in a highly competitive cruise industry. They wanted to reach households with a high propensity of interest in cruise vacations, to increase new customer bookings. To drive traffic online, they used a highly targeted creative Doordrop campaign, with a QR code leading prospects to a user-friendly website.

This Bronze awarded campaign highlighted the exceptional onboard experiences, unique destinations, and premium amenities, which resulted in increased bookings, especially among first-time cruisers.

Abel & Cole, an established organic fruit and vegetable subscription brand with a loyal and engaged following, wanted to use the power of their existing communities to find new customers using traditional advertising methods.

Teaming up with Whistl Doordrop Media and Herdify, they have won the Silver award for their targeted campaign. They combined proprietary modelling, in conjunction with a community detection tool (community recommendations and word-of-mouth had the most influence over sales and brand growth), to hyper-targeted prospects located in their brand community 'hotspots'. The Doordrop provided a prompt to purchase following community recommendations, achieving response rates 120% higher than in non-community areas.
