Whistl Highlights Commitment to Empowering Female Leadership

April 2025

Whistl has demonstrated its commitment to promoting gender diversity and empowering women. This is evidenced by the appointments of Fliss O’Hara (Managing Director of Fulfilment and Contact Solutions) and Laura Sanjurgo (Commercial Director of Mail) to the Whistl Group Executive Board, a significant step in the company’s continued focus on diversity at the highest level of leadership.

Whistl Strengthens Leadership and Representation

Fliss joined Whistl in 2023. Prior to this, she spent 13 years at Clipper Logistics, where she held various positions within the Commercial Finance function. Fliss is passionate about providing solutions for our customers, helping to solve their fulfilment challenges and being part of their growth plans.

Laura joined Whistl in 2010 as a Business Development Manager and has steadily advanced through various senior commercial positions, ultimately becoming the Commercial Director of our Mail business in 2023. Laura is committed to ensuring that we lead the sector, provide innovative solutions, and provide excellent customer service.

EDI Strategy Focuses on Women of Whistl

As well as Fliss and Laura being appointed to the Executive board they are both sponsors of the Women of Whistl (WoW) working group, as part of our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) efforts to promote female diversity and gender equality across the company and industry.

In celebration of International Women's Day in March 2025, the WoW group launched the "Inspiring Women" initiative. This programme invited colleagues across the company to nominate women who inspire them, emphasising the importance of acknowledging inspiring women within the company. These efforts are crucial for maintaining a workplace culture that values and celebrates the contributions of women at all levels.

Gender Diversity Beyond Whistl

Whistl's efforts to advance gender diversity extend beyond internal initiatives. Fliss O’Hara is actively involved in supporting women in the logistics business and is a founding member of the new Women in Logistics UK network.

Through these initiatives, Whistl is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. By empowering women and promoting gender equality, the company is setting an example for other organisations looking to create a more inclusive environment at all levels of leadership.
