Doordrop Media and RNLI win Gold at 2021 COGS

Congratulations to our Whistl Doordrop Media team for winning gold at the 2021 COGS Awards for Best Service Provided in Response to Covid-19 for the charity RNLI.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is a UK based lifesaving charity whose Lifeboat crew are volunteers who risk their lives to save strangers who get into trouble in the water both in the UK and Internationally.

When Covid-19 hit, they were still on call 24/7 but had to stop face-to-face fundraising activities and needed a way to raise donations by reaching out to the public to let them know they needed their help more than ever.

They came to Whistl Doodrop Media with their requirement to deliver an acquisition campaign fast. The DDM team proposed a door drop mailing as the perfect fit and developed a campaign that targeted the top 8m households. The campaign pack had a strong, powerful, and emotional message with clear branding and a call to action.

The campaign was a success, securing a 45% increase in new donors raising just short of £1m in donations.

The RNLI and Whistl worked collaboratively as one crew to quickly pivot and adapt the RNLI’s fundraising plan to include this new door drop activity with a story that showed the public why the RNLI needed urgent funds. Whistl gave everything they had to make this a fundraising success and to help the RNLI lifesavers. We’re so grateful Whistl helped us in our mission to save everyone
