Whistl Doordrop Media Celebrates Silver Win at 2024 DMA Awards

Whistl Doordrop Media, the UK market leader in audience targeting and leaflet services, has won a Silver recognition in the Unaddressed Print and Door Drops category at the 2024 Data & Marketing Association (DMA) Awards.

The Doordrop Media team landed the award for its growth-focussed work for Majestic Wine. The retailer had set a lofty goal to exceed its 2022 sales levels, drive retail traffic into store and win back lapsed customers.  

As part of an integrated marketing campaign, the door drops sent out tied back to Majestic's core message of 'there's a story behind every glass'. The television advertising and door drop creative highlighted Majestic employees' wine knowledge and encouraged customers to come back into stores, using strong offers and calls-to-action. 

As a result, the overall campaign helped Majestic increase sales by 8.1% year-on-year. The door drop element was the best performing channel, achieving a Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI) of 48:7:1 while delivering an uplift against control regions of 15%.

What are the DMA Awards?

The 44th annual DMA Awards took place on Tuesday 3 December 2024 at Old Billingsgate, London. Comprising 39 different categories, the DMAs bring together the best of UK marketing to celebrate "brave brands, the inspiring agencies they partner with and the multitude of tech and innovation suppliers, companies who all combine to help bring vivid dreams to technicolour life."

Categories are split across five tracks: Industry Sectors, Channels, Campaigns, Data and Tech and Craft.

The DMA judging panel also crowns a Grand Prix winner, with Ogilvy UK landing the 2024 top prize for their campaign 'Breaking the Silence', which highlighted the troubling topic of male violence against women. 

Entries for the 2025 edition open on Tuesday 1 July with the gala ceremony set to take place on Tuesday 2 December.
