JICMAIL win Media Research category at Market Research Society Awards
JICMAIL (The Joint Industry Currency for Mail) that was launched in early 2018 has claimed its first award win from the Market Research Society in the Media Search Category.
The mission of JICMAIL is to provide media planners with audience metrics for the third largest advertising channel of mail, including reach and frequency across direct mail and door drops.
Whistl is a founding Partner of JICMAIL and Mark Davies of Whistl Doordrop Media (DDM) sits on the JICMAIL board.
The judges of the award said: “JICMAIL has created metrics that are comparable with other media and to sell them in to the advertising industry. That’s an achievement.”
Until JICMAIL’s inception, advertising mail wasn’t measured, reported on, or governed like all other media channels.
Mark Davies, Managing Director, Whistl DDM said: “This is an incredible achievement for JICAMIL and our research partner Kantar TNS. In less than a year they have proven that we have am award winning proposition that equals other metrics for comparable media channels.”
JICMAIL uses a panel of 1000 nationally representative UK households where each panellist has a diary-based app and records all mail entering their household for a week, and then, what they and other panel household members are doing with their mail at subsequent points over a four-week period.
