Whistl celebrates HGV Heroes

Whistl, the leading delivery management company in the UK, is celebrating the role of its HGV drivers during the Covid 19 Lockdown.

During the lockdown, Whistl employees were designated as key workers as they collect and process mail and parcels for delivery to consumers around the UK.  

There has been a lot of praise for the role the delivery industry has played and the Road Haulage Association (THE RHA) the representative body for the operators of commercial vehicles, wanted to ensure that all those who work in the haulage industry were also recognised through  its HGV Heroes campaign.

Whistl was approached by The RHA to nominate its HGV Heroes and the first of these are Glasgow’s John Thomson and Fraser Hickman. In Bedford, it’s Bryn Williams, David Bareford, Piotr Lipinski, Vincent Ambridge, John Welbourne and Karim Meridji. 

John was nominated because he went above and beyond in order to fulfil his customers’ requirements during these challenging times and remained optimistic throughout.  Fraser’s nomination was because he continued to provide the same level of professionalism to the customers, even within the restrictions imposed by social distancing.

Bryn was nominated for carrying out urgent collections when he wasn’t due to, in order to fulfil customer need. David did not miss a single day’s work and worked tirelessly without complaint. Piotr worked nonstop throughout the pandemic keeping customers happy. Vincent was always on time and happy to do the job he has been allocated. John when he visits customers is a great ambassador for the business; and Karim is always happy and willing to help his colleagues.
