The Whistl Group has been named a European climate leader by the Financial Times and Statista. This follows the publication of the sixth edition of Europe's Climate Leaders, in which Whistl features amongst the top 600 companies making significant progress in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Whistl Stands Apart While Making Maiden List Appearance
Reaching this milestone for the first time is especially significant given that Whistl is the only UK fulfilment, parcels and mail business to make the ranking out of 20,000 businesses assessed.
The list features businesses that have achieved the greatest reduction in their core emissions (Scope 1 and 2) between 2019 and 2024. These are emissions generated from a company’s own operations and from the energy it uses.
What is the Europe's Climate Leaders List?
The Europe's Climate Leaders list comprises European companies that have achieved a notable reduction in their absolute emissions and core emissions intensity.
Having agreed targets with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and an up-to-date CDP score were considered as additional criteria.
To qualify for consideration by the FT and Statista, entrants must be headquartered in one of 33 European countries, have generated revenue of at least €40 million in 2024, and report emissions data independently.
Participants must also be able to supply Scope 1 and Scope emissions data for 2019 and 2024, Scope 3 emissions for 2024, as well as revenues for 2019 and 2024. Where a CDP score is available, the score must be at least B-.
The entry period for the 2026 edition ran from September 15 until November 15 2025.
FT and Statista Accolade is Latest ESG Recognition
Having published our third annual ESG Report, this recognition is the latest accolade on our journey to net-zero by 2045. Recent highlights include a 20% reduction in carbon emissions against our 2022 baseline alongside maintaining our EcoVadis Gold accreditation, ranking us amongst the top 5% of companies assessed globally.
Our ongoing progress against our Environmental, Social and Governance strategy also includes the procurement of 99.5% renewable energy and support for nine local charities across the UK.
In 2025, Whistl won awards for sustainability at both the Thames Valley 250 Awards and the Direct Commerce Awards.
