The Whistl Group, the UK’s leading logistics specialists in e-fulfilment, mail and parcels, has published its second annual ESG Report, updating stakeholders on its activities and progress against its environment, social and governance goals.

ESG Report Highlights Ongoing Progress

The Group's ESG strategy is to ‘deliver competitive services for customers whilst enriching its colleagues and communities and minimising our impact on the environment’.

Titled 'Driven by our People', the 2024 report includes the following key highlights:

  • 13.1% carbon reduction against the Group baseline.
  • Validation of Net Zero targets by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
  • Launch of the Fuel Carbon Calculator and introduction of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) as an alternative fuel option.
  • 70% employee engagement score.

  • Climate Disclosure Project: B Score.

  • Launch of Women of Whistl (WoW) networking group.

  • Payroll Giving Quality Mark Silver Award.

Recognition for Whistl ESG Initiatives

In 2024, the focus of ESG activity was to validate the strategy through external bodies and to engage colleagues, suppliers, and customers in activities that would have a positive impact on them and the communities in which Whistl operates.

The company retained and improved its EcoVadis Gold rating, renewed its Investors in People accreditation and won the Direct Commerce Award for Sustainability, recognising Whistl’s leadership within the Direct Commerce sector.

Ian Keilty, CEO, Whistl Group, said: “Here at Whistl, we are ambitious about what can be achieved through our ESG strategy, from reducing our carbon footprint, to promoting equality and diversity, to supporting our local communities. This ESG Report demonstrates that we are translating our words into action and making a tangible impact.

“We have a motivated team within Whistl and everyone is contributing, whether developing new carbon reduction products such as the Fuel Carbon Calculator, to donating to charity through salary sacrifice, or helping out at local schools.

“We believe in doing the right thing and although progress can be challenging due to the nature of the logistics industry, we are not afraid of that challenge. External bodies and various awards have validated our strategy and efforts.

“I want to congratulate everyone within the business on how they have engaged with suppliers, customers and local communities to ensure that we are having a positive impact through our ESG strategy.”
